One held for raping minor girl

SURAT: Navsari rural police have arrested a youth for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl in Chapra village of the district.
The youth, Kiran Patel, 20, allegedly lured the girl on the pretext for marrying her. He then sexually exploited her and later cut off all communication with the girl. Police said he even changed his cell phone number
After the girl realized that she was cheated, she registered a complaint with the rural police Sunday.Patel, who works in a jari unit in Udhna area of Surat, was arrested immediately.
"We have sent the girl for medical examination to New Civil Hospital in Surat," said circle inspector MA Kher. The girl worked as a casual labourer in her village.
