HYDERABAD: Core social and political developments that fashioned the lives of people living in India's troubled northeast have been captured in a new book by a former IAS officer-turned-writer.
Posted at Tamenglong in Manipur as a young IAS probationer in 1977, author C Balagopal had first-hand experience of curfews, elections and problems in the once insurgency-hit state, which he detailed in 'On a clear day you can see India'.
After leaving service in 1983, Balagopal became a successful entrepreneur in Kerala. He also won the national R&D award for successful commercialization of indigenous technology by ministry of science & technology in 1995.
