IMPHAL, April 12: The High Court of Manipur stays the construction of Langoibung Primary School, of Hiyanglam under Thoubal district. Chief Justice (in charge) of Manipur High Court, Justice Laxmi Mohapatra passed the stay order on April 11.
One Ch. Tikendrajit Meitei and Kh. Yaima Meitie filed a petition challenging the construction of the school. They had contested that the construction was done under an adhoc School Management and Development Committee of SSA, constituted illegally in violation of Government’s notice and guidelines.
In this regard, a notice has been issued to the Government as to why the said adhoc Committee should not be quashed. Further a four week time has been given for a reply from the Government. A writ petition was represented by advocate L. Anand Singh on behalf of the petitioners.
The locals of Langoibung village is relief with the Stay Order, said a release of Pumlen Yangbi Development Organisation, Thoubal.
