EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Brooklyn Nets guard Shaun Livingston and forward Alan Anderson did not practice on Saturday and are both out for Sunday night's game against the Orlando Magic.

Livingston (sprained right big toe) will be missing his third straight game, while Anderson (sore abdominal muscle) will be missing his second game in a row.

“It’s better,” Livingston said of his toe. “It was really sore after the Miami game, but it’s getting better, and I’m making progress. We’ll see how it goes. I’m day to day.”

Livingston hopes to play in a regular-season game before the playoffs start.

“I’d like to. I’d personally like to, but it just all depends on the toe,” he said. “How it feels from day to day and just kind of take it from there.”

Livingston, who has logged career highs in both total minutes and games played this season, says the injury is actually “a blessing in disguise. “I’m just looking at KG [Kevin Garnett], how active he looks and how healthy he is. Hopefully I can just take that same kind of regimen in a week.”

Guard Deron Williams, who sat out Friday night due to right patella tendinitis, plans to play on Sunday.

“It’s feeling great,” Williams said of his knee.

Williams, who is shooting just 34.1 percent in his last four games, said he definitely feels much better than he did at the All-Star break.

“The last couple days have helped as far as rest,” Williams said. “It’s good to have a couple days and try to get refreshed and then finish out the season.”

Nets coach Jason Kidd said not to read anything into center Andray Blatche not playing on Friday despite feeling better.

“Just looking at different scenarios, looking at different guys at different positions, so that’s it,” Kidd said.

Speaking of which, Kidd said he doesn’t plan on tightening his rotation once the playoffs start.

“I have the luxury of having a lot of guys that can play, so I don’t see why I would tighten up the rotation,” he said. “I think that’s one of our advantages, that we have a lot of guys that can play.
