JABALPUR: Golu Singh, son of BJP MLA from Bargi Pratibha Singh, was arrested from Mathura on Thursday. A history-sheeter with more than a dozen cases against him, Golu has been on the run ever since police lodged an FIR against him for firing at Congress workers in Mankehdi four days ago. The incident left five Congressmen injured with gun shot wounds who are recuperating in the hospital.
Talking to TOI, superintendent of police (SP), Jabalpur Harinarayanachari Mishra said Golu's whereabouts could be traced by his mobile number which he had used to call home.
A special team was dispatched to Mathura which brought him back on Thursday, Mishra confirmed. Another accomplice of his, Yashpal Singh, was also nabbed from the same place, he said.
However, news was not made public then as the administration feared that it would trigger fresh violence in Mankhedi and Belkeda which continued to be tense. Meanwhile, he was produced before the magistrate in Jabalpur district court and remanded to judicial custody and has been sent to jail.
