2008 Betma murder case: Seven get life

INDORE: Seven people were convicted and awarded life imprisonment in 2008 Betma murder case by local court on Friday. One accused has been declared an absconder.
Sardar Singh, Satya Narayan, Sobha Ram alias Subhash, Prem Singh, Sahib Singh, Bahadar Khan and Peer Baksha, who were out on bail, have been sent to jail after being convicted by additional district and sessions judge Priyadarshan Sharma.
Lawyer Vimal Mishra said the incident dates back to April 13, 2008, when Nausad Ali alias Bada Munna, was called by a group of people at Khateria village, under Betma police station limits, for settling a property dispute and was brutally killed later.
Statement of two eye-witnesses helped nail the accused.
