Anurag Basu's Tagore connection

He is busy shooting the Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif starrer 'Jagga Jasoos', but Mirror has learnt that Anurag Basu has been reading up on Rabindranath Tagore for a TV show on the life of the Bengali bard. It will air on a soon-tobe launched channel devoted to historical shows. Sumeet Vyas has been signed to play the title role in the 24-episode series.
“Anurag will be directing the pilot and producing the show. Tagore has strongly influenced his own work, so he is determined to do full justice to the TV biopic,” says a friend of the filmmaker.

Basu has in the past directed TV shows like Love Story, and even some episodes of Ekta Kapoor’s tele epic 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi'.
