CIRCUIT INTERRUPTERS The F200 ground fault equipment protector protects against damaging line-to-ground fault current by disconnecting all ungrounded conductors in the faulted circuit. A toroidal CT continuously monitors current balance among live conductors in most networks up to 480 V. Product Äline includes two-pole F202 for single-phase networks, and four-pole F204 for split-phase, delta, and wye networks. All are UL 1053 compliant. Features include bi-directional cylindrical terminals for cables up to 10 mm2 and for 25 mm2; DIN rail mounting; operation in ambient temperatures from -13°F to 131°F. Contact ABB Low Voltage Products of New Berlin, Wis., at (888) 385-1221.

CONTROLS The SSW7000 medium-voltage a-c motor starters for horsepower ratings 750 to 4,500 feature Flexible Torque Control technology based on vector and direct torque control concepts to select desired torque control according to the type of shaft load. A removable "cell-phone-like" keypad with upload/download capabilities offers sequential or grouped access to control parameters via programmable keys. Accessories can be installed quickly through plug and play. Further information is available from WEG Electric of Atlanta; 678-249-2022.

For interfacing between operators and industrial machinery, the OIS42 touch screen interface station is available from Toshiba International Corp. of Houston, Tex., at (800) 231-1412. Backlit three-inch screen offers red, green, and blue display colors in any combination. Features include: RS485 port; built-in ladder logic editor sharing tag database with screen for creating interlocks and permissives; language selection capability for description of cryptic trip and alarm codes from ASD's or other industrial devices; and I/O, including 8 DI and DO, 2 AI, and 1 AO.

DRIVES & INVERTERS An Active Front End regeneration unit for overhead crane drives, the IMPULSE D+ is rated from 5-150 hp 230 V; up to 450 hp at 460 V. Unit captures surplus motor regenerative energy and returns it to the a-c power source, regulating a consistent d-c bus voltage while significantly reducing line harmonics and eliminating dynamic braking resistors. For further details, contact Magnetek, Inc., of Menomonee Falls, Wis., at www.magnetekmh.com.

INTERCONNECTIONS Surface-mount enclosure coin cell battery contacts require minimal board space with easy access for installation and removal of coin cell batteries of 16 mm diameter and larger. Contacts are made of gold-plated phosphor bronze for low contact resistance and easy reflow soldering. Both positive (Part #110) and negative (Part #112) are available in bulk or on tape and reel for most vacuum and mechanical pick-and-place assembly systems. Request more information from Keystone Electronics Corp., 31-07 20th Rd., Astoria, N.Y. 11105-2017; (800) 221-5510.

MEASURING EQUIPMENT To gather energy usage data for guidance of facility managers, the 1730 three-phase energy logger is being offered by Fluke Corp., P.O. Box 9090, Everett, Wash. 98206; (800) 443-5853. Data can be imported into the Fluke Energy Analyze software for processing and archiving. Software allows users to anai i energy or load profiles, including zoom-in and zoom-out on details; add comments or pictures; overlay different logging sessions; create reports; and export measurement results. Features include digital check and auto-correct of all connections, on-screen wizard for interval setup, two USB ports for data downloads to PC or standard thumb drive, and safety rating of 600 V CAT IV/1000 V CAT III. Logger can be powered directly from the measured circuit.

The Edison Model 1604 resistance temperature detector monitor provides continuous surveillance of nickel, copper, or platinum resistance temperature detectors in motors or other apparatus. Indicated temperature is compared to pre-selected trip points (two available for each channel) for operation of an alarm relay (alarm location and details are viewable). History and configuration reports are available via thumb drive. Panel-mounted unit is gasketed (IP-67) to exclude splashing liquids. Request further information from Allestec Corp., 810 Russell Palmer Rd., Suite B, Kingwood, Tex. 77339; (281) 359-1519.

MISCELLANEOUS A single-output, convection-cooled a-c/d-c power supply, the GB60 provides 60 watts in a compact 2"X"3X"1.35" package. Four models offer outputs from 12 to 48 V from 90 to 264 V a-c input. Level V efficiency standards allow use in products with Energy Star rating. Ambient temperature limits are -10°C to 70°C with -40°C startup; 40 watt output is available at 70°C. Other features include total noise and ripple of 1 % plus full protection against short-circuit, overload, or over-temperature, and overvoltage. More information is available from SL Power Electronics of Ventura, Calif.; www.slpower.com.

The 36-page AEGIS Shaft Grounding Ring Motor Repair Handbook describes best practices for protecting motor bearings from electrical damage caused by variable-frequency drives (inverters). The rings can be retrofitted to many motors, providing a path for damaging shaft current to bypass the bearings to ground. Copies may be downloaded free at www.estaegis.com/bearing, a Web site of Electro Static Technology, 31 Winterbrook Rd., Mechanic Handbook Falls, Me. 04256; (207) 998-5140.

TEST INSTRUMENTS For testing or fault-finding on almost any printed circuit board, the BoardMaster 8000 Plus PCB test system includes a comprehensive set of instruments and Windows PC to offer a variety of available test methods. Its modular system can be customized for various applications, with software that can be configured to guide users step-bystep with custom-annotated images, instructions, and attached data sheets. Features include two board fault locator modules offering 128 test channels; analog IC tester and fully configurable V-I tester for unpowered boards; multiple instrument station; and triple output variable power supply.
