Ticket to Bollywood kicks off on NDTV Prime

Winners from the show will be cast in NDTV’s debut Bollywood production venture

Although there are several reality shows being presented by various channels, one which clubs singing, dancing and acting together in one is a rarity. “There have been shows that displayed different kinds of talent from different sections, but here, we are looking for two talented artists who can sing, dance and act equally well. It’s an entire package that we are looking for and not just someone who can emote,” stated popular Bollywood casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who is one of the judges on Ticket to Bollywood, the newly-launched NDTV Prime show where contestants from various cities are competing to win a chance to feature in NDTV’s first Bollywood production venture, in the lead role. The makers have also roped in actress Mahima Chaudhary and singer Jasbir Jassi (of Dil le gayi kudi Gujarat ki fame) as the other two judges. The show will also see director Kunal Kohli coming in as the fourth judge during the final rounds.
While most reality shows follow a similar route, that of auditioning participants and then asking the audience to vote for their favourite contestants, Ticket to Bollywood will first groom the participants, making them undergo various grooming workshops including acting, dance, singing and action among others. The grooming sessions will continue till the time the show concludes, in the first week of May.
“Even during the show, we are encouraging on-the-spot activities and improvisation rounds, since it helps the artist to develop their skills further. Also, there is no audience voting involved here. We will choose the winners based on their skills and overall package. They must excel in all three departments,” stated Chaudhary. Jassi further confirmed that if they find more than two talented artists, they will form an ensemble cast in the film. “The film will be full of fun and totally commercial, catering to youngsters. After the show, we will have a close knit meeting with the channel to choose the director who will helm the project,” mentioned Jassi.

More trouble for Sandhya after she becomes an IPS officer

Hints the producer of the Diya Aur Baati Hum, Sumeet Mittal

Diya Aur Bati Hum will soon see Sandhya (Deepika Singh) becoming an IPS officer. But here’s an interesting bit for the viewers. So far, Suraj (Anas Rashid) who is just a halwai, had been supporting her dream. But the twist will be, whether Suraj will continue to support her in the upcoming track of the show. “We don’t make desperate attempts to impress the audience or grab their attention, so the flow of the show will be the same, but there will now be a lot of difference between both the characters, since she’s now an IPS officer. It’s going to be even more difficult for her to manage home and her work,” says Mittal.
Meanwhile, Mittal, also the producer of another show on Life Ok, Tumhari Paakhi, hints at a huge twist in it. “The show will have a very unexpected move,” he says without divulging any more details.
