MUMBAI: Ten candidates are in the fray from Palghar Lok Sabha constituency, with a Congress youth leader fighting as an Independent.
Sachin Shingda, 33, the son of former Congress MP Damodar Shingda, has got a coconut as his election symbol.
As the Congress ditched its candidate, MLA Rajendra Gavit, in favour of Baliram Jadhav of the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA), Nationalist Congress Party workers are likely to back Sachin.
Congress workers have refused to work for the BVA.
Chintaman Vanga (BJP), Ladkya Kharpade (CPM) and Pandurang Pardhi (AAP) are among the candidates. No women are in the fray.
