The senior motor vehicle examiner and the three other men arrested last week in connection to a probe at the Portland Examination Depot are to return to court on May 13.

The men were granted bail when they appeared in court yesterday.

The examiner, 42-year-old Richard Hylton; examiner 26-year-old Taurean Thompson, clerk 24-year-old Antoir Sadaar; and 53-year-old Owen Thomas were arrested by personnel from the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Task Force on April 4.

They were arrested during operations carried out in relation to an ongoing probe into irregularities in the way in which persons were granted upgraded drivers’ licences at the depot.

All four are facing charges under the Corruption Prevention Act, while three will answer an additional charge of making a false declaration, under Section 18 of the Road Traffic Act.
