Dozens of children turned performers at the launch of this year's Feltham Arts Festival as Circus Suburbia came to town.

Around 35 youngsters aged between six and 13 got to grips with some basic circus skills at The Piazza in Feltham town centre yesterday (9).

Parents watched on in awe as their children learnt hula hooping, juggling and tightrope walking forwards and for those more daring going backwards and trying a jump and twist.

Charlotte Skinner, Feltham Arts programme manager, said: "It turned out very well and they all got to try everything.

"It was really good and the parents enjoyed it and we got some good feedback with people saying that it was nice to have something active outside and it was something different for Feltham."

Circus Suburbia will return with a youth group in tow to perform at the community fun day on May 28 at The Centre in Feltham.

The festival will run until July and includes everything from arts, dance and community activities centred around bringing people together.
