No. 2 Armstrong Atlantic blanks No. 26 Georgia College 9-0

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Two-time defending NCAA Division II national champion Armstrong Atlantic blanked No. 26 Georgia College 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Bacon Park.

The Pirates (18-1, 11-0 PBC) won their 10th match out of 11 against Peach Belt foes this season by the perfect 9-0 score. Georgia College (13-6, 6-4 PBC) suffered its second consecutive league loss after having won five in a row up to that point.

Armstrong picked up all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead heading into singles play. The No. 8-ranked doubles duo of Marlen Hacke and Olga Kalodzitsa defeated Camille Clausse-Pujo and Ivana Marevic 8-1 at No. 1 doubles, while the duo of Clara Perez and Carolina Prats-Millan downed Macy Polk and Hannah Serdinia 8-1 at No. 2 doubles. Dora Andrejszki and Barbora Krtickova finished off the doubles sweep with an 8-4 win against Katie Krupp and Cristalei Polk at No. 3 doubles.

The Pirates then picked up consecutive set singles wins in all six singles matches to clinch the victory. No. 15-ranked Hacke notched a 6-1, 6-3 win against Macy Polk at No. 1 singles, while No. 11-ranked Krtickova downed Clausse-Pujo 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. No. 19-ranked Prats-Millan blaked Marevic 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3 singles while No. 42-ranked Perez beat Cristalei Polk 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Kalodzitsa defeated Serdinia 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 singles and Andrejszki beat Krupp 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles to close out singles play.
