Gazipur’s Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Fatema Najib convicted Md Farhad Hossain on Wednesday for the rape of his 19-year old daughter.

She also fined him Tk 100,000.

“The court has ordered that the fine be realised from his property and given to the victim,” said Public Prosecutor Md Fozlul Quader.

He said the victim used to live with her father and his second wife ‘Rumana’.

'Rumana' filed the case against her husband with Kalyakoir police in March 20 last year. Police arrested him the same day.

She accused him of raping his own daughter on three occasions.

Forhad then confessed his crime before the court under section 164.

SI Sanowar Zahan investigated the case and submitted the charge-sheet on Jun 24, last year.
