One held, as Tulip hotel event turns rowdy

Guests at the Tulip Star hotel in Juhu, were upset and angry, after the Miami Grind event for the New Year celebrations was stopped by the Mumbai police; and even because of the worst service meted out by the event organizers, Apex Entertainment.

Guests at the Tulip Star hotelu00a0in Juhu, were upset and angry, after the Miami Grind eventu00a0for theu00a0New Year celebrations was halted by the Mumbai police; and evenu00a0more because of theu00a0despicable serviceu00a0(no food, beverages) by the event organizers, Apex Entertainment.


The party organiser was arrested by the Mumbai police.






More than four thousand people turned up for the event, afteru00a0passes were sold from Rs 1500 to Rs 5000.u00a0But they all were upset with the service provided by the organizers, Apex Entertainment.

Moreover, the event went past theu00a0deadline, hence the police halted it.


R Bhosle, Police Inspector, Santacruz said, "The organizer had come to the police station tou00a0complain about some anti-social elements who had entered and messed up the show. Invitees wereu00a0angry asu00a0theu00a0unruly bunch of peopleu00a0cropped up unexpected, leaving no food and beverages for them."

Much publicity had gone into organising theu00a0Miami Grind event. T-shirts had been handed out to coconut vendors and chaatwalas.u00a0Stickers were also pated on coconuts, in a bid to to attract many invitees.


Guests were chargedu00a0from Rs1500-Rs5000 per head.u00a0Yet theu00a0celebrations turned into a no show yesterday night.


Invitees were heard hurling abuses at the organisers,u00a0amidstu00a0the chaos.


Minish Mehta one of the customers said, "I paid Rs 1500 per head for my family just to enjoy, but the event has upset us. I came with my two kids and wife who got scared after seeing the dirty crowdu00a0at the event. No eatables, drinks, add to that fights occurred as well, hence I left from the event within two hours."u00a0u00a0


Another Jignesh Panaria who attended the event said, "I paid Rs 2000 just to enjoy here, but it was a big flop show. No food was left and whatever was there was actually very badu00a0to taste. Beverages too were over, sou00a0I am going out to search for some bhurji pav stall to eat something."

An irate guest Rakesh Naik said, "I will drag these organizersu00a0to theu00a0consumer courts for cheating us public in this way. They had got a lot of money from this event but gave theu00a0worst service. No food, no beverages were left, why?"

The event organiser of the Miami Grind Karan Shah said,u00a0"The party at JW Marriott got cancelled and hence the public came from there for our event. Gatecrashing took place leading to chaos at our event".
