RAJKOT: A couple was allegedly murdered by a police constable in the city on Monday. Accused Kamlesh alias Lalo Mehta later surrendered before the police and confessed his crime. The deceased have been identified as Bhupat Teriaya (54) and his wife Gunvanti Teriaya (50) of Punit Nagar in Bajrangwadi area.
"Kamlesh was annoyed with the indecent behaviour of his neighbour Bhupat and stabbed them to death,'' a police official said.

Sources said despite being neighbours, Bhupat and Kamlesh did not have cordial relations for the last many years. On Monday, Kamlesh was on his way to 'B' Division police station for duty when his wife told him that Bhupat was sitting outside his house and staring at her. An angry Kamlesh took out a knife and went on stab Bhupat and Gunvanti. The couple was rushed to a hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
Later, Kamlesh surrendered before the police and told that he was tired of Bhupat's indecent behaviour with his wife. He said Bhupat had been quarreling with him for the last several years over petty issues. On Monday, he lost his patience and killed the couple.
Kiran Mandir, a resident of Gopvandna Society and relative of the deceased couple, has got a case registered against Kamlesh at Gandhigram police station.
