Yazali tense after clash, additional forces deployed

Itangar: Tension gripped Yazali in the Lower Subansiri district following a clash between supporters of NCP and Congress on Monday. Several were injured.
The district administration has deployed additional forces to restore peace and maintain law and order. Prohibitory orders under CrPc 144 has been clamped in the area, a source said here on Tuesday. A clash broke out between NCP and Congress supporters at Pitapool petrol depot and many sustained injuries.
Lower Subansiri district SP and assistant returning officer of Yachuli visited Yazali police station to take stock of the situation. An FIR has been lodged and investigations are on, the source said.
The district electoral officer (DEO) convened a meeting with the election agents on Tuesday to caution them about further conflicts. The DEO, at the same time, appealed to all sections of the society to restrain from any act of violence and let the spirit of democracy prevail, the source added.
