Payarena VAS platform launched in Nigeria

Payarena, a platform that offers users easy access to value added services (VAS), has been launched in Nigeria by Unified Payment Services Limited, allowing users to purchase airtime via virtual top-up and prepaid PINs.

The platform also enables users to pay for BlackBerry subscriptions, data bundle plans and other VAS services on networks in Nigeria, while also supporting payment of power, cable and internet bills to service providers such as PHCN, DSTV, GOtv and Swift Networks.

“For the very first time, Visa, MasterCard and UnionPay cardholders can now enjoy value added services on a single platform,” Babatunde Okeniyi, director of marketing and sales for Unified Payments, said.

“With Payarena, holders of different card brands and various other payment options are now well taken care of with regards to value added services that come with electronic payments even as this brings a further boost to the cashless economy policy driven by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).”

Payarena is available online at payarena.com, Point of Sale (POS) terminals and ATM machines.

It supports several card services including Visa, MasterCard and UnionPay, as well as contactless payment solutions.
