Harris's brush with Mozart

The composer recently visited Mozart's home in Austria
Harris's brush with Mozart
Harris Jayaraj is back in the city after a visit to Mozart's home in Austria. Recounting details of his trip, which he terms as an emotional one, he says, 'This journey has been on my mind for so many years. After I finished composing songs for KV Anand's Anegan in Paris, I decided to take a trip to Salzburg, Austria to visit Mozart's home. From the room he was born in to the first violin he used (at the age of six), I got to see many artefacts related to Mozart.
The best part was the manuscript of Mozart's symphony.'
He adds, 'Mozart is a demi-god to all musicians. He inspired me during my growing up years and has been my biggest motivation. When I was a child, my father used to narrate several stories about him. I felt a sense of satisfaction after visiting his home. I was humbled and the visit made me realize I should raise my bar higher and compose great music.'
