GPT to develop new national headquarters for Samsung Electronics Australia at Sydney Olympic Park

07 April 2014

The GPT Group (GPT) has entered into an agreement with Samsung Electronics Australia to build its new national headquarters at Sydney Olympic Park.

The Group will develop a 13,000 square metre campus-style building for the electronics company at 3 Murray Rose Avenue.

Head of Development, Commercial and Industrial, John Thomas said Samsung's lease, which was for 100 per cent of the building, reflected the solid partnership between the two companies.

"GPT has a reputation for delivering quality offices in Sydney Olympic Park, such as the award winning Lion building at 5 Murray Rose," said Mr Thomas.

"This development will take our total floor space across the Sydney Olympic Park precinct to 75,000 square metres, with a further 200,000 square metres to be developed in the future.

"GPT is continuing to grow scale in logistics and business parks, with a portfolio of nearly $1.5 billion of existing product and development which is underway."

Guy Glenny from JLL acted on behalf of Samsung.

Samsung is also an important customer of GPT's shopping centre assets. The Samsung Experience Store opened at the redeveloped Highpoint Shopping Centre in Melbourne last year.
