Secular forces must unite to defeat communal, divisive forces: Chib

JAMMU, Apr 8: Alleging that Congress is the symbol of secularism and keeps all sections of society together, former Minister and general secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), RS Chib said that secular forces must unite under the banner of Congress to defeat communal and divisive forces and safeguard the unity and integrity of India.
Addressing a series of meetings at various places in Suchetgarh Assembly Constituency, including, Dablehar, Samka (Tonkan Wali) and Kanachak, here today, Chib appealed people to vote for Congress-NC coalition candidate, Madan Lal Sharma.
Chib also spoke at length about the developmental activities, undertaken by the Congress-NC Coalition Government, during last five years and said that the credit of holding successful Panchayat elections in the State goes to this Government.
Making a special reference to adoption of 73rd Amendment by the Government, he said Congress is committed to strengthen Panchayats to fulfill the dream of late Rajiv Gandhi.
Describing Madan Lal Sharma as an able and experienced politician, Rajesh Bittoo, a senior Kissan leader, appealed people to vote for him. He said farmers have benefited with good Basmati rate, because of pro-Kissan policies of the Congress-NC Coalition Government.
NC leader, Naresh Bittoo also asked all the NC workers to vote for Congress candidate, in order to have better development of the border and rural areas of the State.
