13-yr-old sexually assaulted by unknown person at Sion
A 13-year-old schoolgirl was sexually assaulted by an unknown person while she was returning home from school at Sion on Monday.
The unidentified accused accosted the victim on Vallabhdas Road and took her into a nearby building, where he allegedly sexually abused her. The man then threatened the girl to stay at the spot, while he fled from the scene.
Alleged Chhota Rajan shooter arrested from Thane
A suspected sharpshooter associated with underworld don Chhota Rajan has been arrested in connection with the gun attack on bookie-turned-builder Ajay Gosalia, a Crime Branch officer said on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip off, a trap was laid and alleged shooter Prakash Nikam (33) was arrested from Diva in Thane. A sophisticated pistol with five live rounds was seized from Nikam, who has been earlier linked to extortion and attempt to murder cases, the officer said.
On August 28 last year, three men opened fire at Gosalia while he was coming out of a mall in Malad. Gosalia was shot in his neck, shoulder and thigh, but he survived the attack. So far, seven people have been arrested in the case. Nikam is believed to be one of the the three gunmen. Agencies

However, a woman who was passing by saw the girl crying and asked her the reason. She then took her to her parents and informed them about the incident. The girl’s parents approached the Sion police who filed a complaint of rape under Section 376, besides other relevant sections of the Prevention Of Children From Sexual Offences Act. A sketch has been made of the accused and a manhunt has been launched to nab him. MMB
