I'm too honest to get into politics, Amala Akkineni says
Amala Akkineni has finally broken her silence about rumours that she's going to contest in elections this year and she confesses that she's too honest to get into politics. Interestingly, she was approached by Aam Aadmi Party earlier this year; however, she promptly turned down the offer. "The Aam Aadmi Party had approached me recently to join them; however, I dont want to jump into a vehicle just because it is moving," Amala Akkineni avers.

Last month, when Nagarjuna met Narendra Modi, rumours were rife that Amala Akkineni could be contesting from Vijayawada and that Nagarjuna had met the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate to seek his support for Amala. However, Nagarjuna denied these rumours soon after he met Modi.
Amala Akkineni, who was in Kerala recently to attend an event, spoke to TOI about the rumours surrounding her political entry and said, "I guess its the media that wants me to join politics! I am not politically inclined; I have no such ambitions and say only things I believe in. I can make no false promises. I am happy to do social work. The happy moments for me would be when homeless animals get adopted or even catching a glimpse of birds flying!"
