INDORE: A 30-year-old contractual employee of health department, Sanjay Upadhyay was arrested by Ratlam district police on Monday for allegedly sexually exploiting a 35-year-old dalit patwari since 2006 by making a false promise of marrying her.
The patwari, who is a resident of Jawahar Nagar locality of Ratlam, had alleged before Ratlam Industrial Area police on Saturday that Sanjay had an affair with her since 2001.

The woman patwari who lived in the same locality where Sanjay resided, had alleged Sanjay started having physical relations with her since July 2006. In 2010, he married another girl but promised to divorce his newly married wife and marry the woman patwari after a few months.
Hoodwinked by his false promises, the woman continued to have physical relations with him.
Earlier this month, Sanjay refused to leave his wife. He even threatened to kill the patwari if she reported the matter to police. But unnerved by the threats, she registered a complaint based on which, a case of rape, obscenity and criminal intimidation was lodged under IPC against Sanjay. He was arrested on Monday and booked under provisions of SC/ST Act.
