The lioness was caught on camera while napping in a tree in a reserve in Kenya

While visiting Kenya's Maasai Mara national reserve, 45-year-old designer Mark Bridger chanced to come across a lioness that was busy sleeping up in a tree. Mark managed to snap some photos of the feline and has recently shared them with the public.

One of these pictures is available above, and it shows the lioness napping in what I think to be a fairly odd, maybe even uncomfortable position. Still, the feline does not seem to have a problem with the fact that tree branches are sticking into its body.

On the contrary, it looks to me that the lioness very much enjoys sleeping up in this tree and would not trade the branches it is resting on for the fluffiest mattress in the world.

According to Daily Mail, 45-year-old Mark Bridger ended up visiting Kenya after winning a photography competition. All in all, the designer spent 7 days in this country.

In an interview, Mark Bridger explained, “I was on safari for seven days and I was waking up at 6 a.m. every day and staying out for about ten hours in order to take the perfect shots.”

“Maasai Mara is one of the only places on the planet where lions sleep in trees. It just doesn't really happen outside of Kenya so it was great to see,” the 45-year-old designer added.
