No clear picture yet on BJP seats: Ganta

April 07, 2014 10:10 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 07:26 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

The issue of sharing the Lok Sabha and the Assembly constituencies between Telugu Desam and BJP in the district has not been resolved yet and talks are going on not only on the Visakhapatnam North constituency but also on the other constituencies, former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao has said.

In a brief interaction with the media at the party office on Monday, he said a clear picture would emerge by Tuesday evening.

He said the tie-up was a necessity in national interest and some disappointment was inevitable in both the parties.

The followers of MLA P. Rameshbabu, who switched over to TDP from Congress along with Mr. Srinivasa Rao expecting the Visakhapatnam North constituency, staged a protest at the TDP office on Sunday. The former minister said he would abide by the party decision and contest the Lok Sabha or the Assembly or work for the party if the leadership decided so.

Youth join TDP

Earlier, a number of youth led by Telugu Yuvatha Urban president Lodagala Krishna joined the party in the presence of Mr. Srinivasa Rao and TDP urban president V. Ganesh Kumar.
