GORAKHPUR: Two persons died and five, including two women, were injured in firing at Malao Pasi Tola village in Belipar on Saturday evening.
Earlier, an angry mob set a hut and a tractor belonging to the accused on fire. Police reached the spot and rescued the women trapped in the burning hut. PAC was deployed in the village to maintain peace. The reason behind the incident is stated to be a feud between the two families since the past one month.
On Saturday evening, women members of Sumer Pasi's family were returning from fields after completing their work. When they reached in front of the house of Buddhi Sagar Shukla, a 12 years old boy Shubham started passing comments on them.
When the women protested, a clash broke out between the families of Shukla and Sumer Pasi. Buddhi Sagar's brothers Ram Sagar Shukla and Prem Sagar Shukla started firing on the other group. Sumer Pasi (30) died on the spot. A bullet hit abdomen of Girijesh, 13, son of Kanta Yadav, when he was returning from fields on his bicycle. His family members rushed him to BRD Medical College, where doctors declared dead. Radheshyam, his wife Gunja, Ranmati, Deepa, and Surendra of Pasi family received injuries. They are undergoing treatment.
Senior police officials reached the spot. On the directions of SSP, a large number of policemen are camping in the region. A case had been registered against Ganga Shukla, Buddhiram Shukla, Prem Sagar Shukla, Ram Sagar, Chotu, Shubham and Pappu.
