Surankot drubs Kunya by 43 runs

POONCH, Apr 6: Surankot Cricket Club defeated Kunya Cricket Club by a big margin of 43 runs in the T20 Cricket Tournament at Degree College ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Surankot CC scored a modest total of 130 runs in the stipulated overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Rashid top scored with 40 runs off 28 balls.
In reply, Kunya CC bundled out for a paltry total of 87 runs, thus lost the match by 43 runs. Lovely was the top scorer with 20-ball 30 runs. For Surankot Club, Shabir was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 3 wickets by conceding 12 runs in his 3 overs, while Imran and Idnan bagged 2 wickets each by giving away 10 and 16 runs in 3 overs respectively.
With this win Surankot Club entered quarterfinals of the Tournament.
Mohd Ayaz Khan, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Rajouri/Poonch was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who presented man of the award to the winner.
The match was officiated by Tariq Khan, Guvinder Singh, Parvez Ahmed, Davinder Singh and Damanpreet Singh.
