Six die in two accidents

BERHEMPUR: Six persons died and 10 were injured in two accidents in Ganjam district on Saturday.
The injured were admitted to different hospitals, including MKCG Medical College and Hospital, here.
Three persons, including a woman, died and six were injured when the tractor, they were travelling in, overturned at Gopapur. The deceased were identified as Surendra Behera, 47, of Baragaon, Sudeshna Behera, 25, and Badal Kumar Behera, 10, of Pathara.They were returning from Tara Tarini shrine. In the other incident, three persons died when a truck rammed their vehicle at Dhenkishala. They are Bipin Sethi, 35, of Takarada, Kabiraj Gouda, 51, of Thurutura and Khadala Gouda, 18, of Sorada.
Villagers blocked the road at Dhenkishala for hours, demanding compensation to the kin of the deceased. They withdrew the agitation after the administration promised ex gratia from the district Red Cross fund.
