MYSORE: Sharply reacting to the alleged charge sheet against UPA released by BJP at New Delhi KPCC Vice President and party spokesman B K Chandrashekar termed the BJP leaders as "hit and run" lot and said they don't have any mind to discuss issues.
At a press meet here, he said the BJP leaders have discussed about corruption in their charge sheet, but they have forgotten the fact that it was the Congress which initiated corrective measures and took action against the people involved in corruption.
" But BJP leaders have suppressed the facts by not saying any thing on the corruption charges against BJP leaders" he pointed out and asked who was Bangaru Lakshman , who is Ananthkumar , who is Nitin Gadkari. " I want to know what action they initiated against these leaders" ?he asked and said BJP leaders have no moral right to criticize leaders like A K Anthony who is honest to the core.
Chandrashekar said Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are stressing the need for systemic corrections to eliminate and check corruption , where as BJP speaks about symptomatic corrections. " Congress is much more ahead of BJP leaders in speaking about the issues and we are talking about change in the system and they are speaking about an isolated issue like corruption" he analyzed terming the charge sheet against Congress is a bundle of lies.
Referring to another charge of price rise, Chandrashekar said the BJP leaders have no knowledge of economics . One should know that in growing economies where the growth rate is between 7 and 10 percent the price rise is natural with the increasing inflation, he said and added the social and welfare schemes are intended to upset this price rise and protect the poor and middle class people. He said one should not forget the fact that the UPA government is providing Rs 1.68 lakh crore as subsidies . " Price rise may affect a section o rich class, but the farmers are a happy lot as they are getting remunerative price for their produce . " Any time farmer had got Rs 4300 for his tur crop? , he asked and said the bogie of price rise is nothing but the BJP's intentions to attract the urban voters.
Asked about the foreign policy , Chandrashekar said" I want to say one thing that after 1972 not even a single war took place, but it was during the NDA regime Kargil war broke out, People lived in peace unlike during NDA regime indicating the fact that Congress was successful in its foreign policy".
