MYSORE: Rahul Prithvi Krishna, a student of National Institution of Engineering Institute of Technology (NIE-IT), believes that he is duty-bound to educate rural and underprivileged people on voting.
According to him, many of those living near his college do not know the importance of voting. "They do not cast vote thinking that it has no value. But we want them to know the significance of each vote," he added.

"We have also informed them about None of The Above (NOTA), the latest option on EVMs. Ahead of Lok Sabha elections, we have got an opportunity to serve people on their rights," said Shetty.
"To attract people's attention, we dress ourselves up like beach boys, pen man, cat woman, maharaja," said K Abhishek. Many people have joined the students for the cause, the students claim.
NIE-IT students also have their college fest IgNIEIT-2014 themed on 'Come, Let us vote'. During the two-day fest which began on Friday, many events are being organized to educate people and students on the importance of voting.
