Nick Cannon is in hot water at home and in the media this week.
Mimi's husband found himself at the receiving end of Internet backlash earlier this week when he unveiled the whiteface character he created to promote his new album. Now, Cannon is defending his publicity stunt, saying that those who were offended by the alter ego "can't take a joke."

In a guest segment of Rachael Ray's show that is scheduled to air Friday, Cannon says some "ultra-sensitive people" criticized the whiteface character, named Connor Smallnut. As a tool to promote his new album White People Party Music, he tells Ray that the plan all along was "to release my album on April Fools' Day and dress up as Connor Smallnut."

The irony, according to Cannon, is that "if you listen to the album, or go into the backstory of that character, he's an ultra-sensitive character who hates Nick Cannon and is offended by the album title White People Party Music."
"Yeah, and, you know, some people can't take a joke," he adds. "But I wasn't trying to reach those people anyway. I'm reaching people that have a sense of humor and know how to laugh."

Cannon's mouth even gets him into hot water at home, the actor and television personality revealed in a separate interview with Howard Stern. Cannon tells the shock jock that he frequently gets into trouble with wife Mariah Carey when he appears on The Howard Stern Show, where the topic of conversation is often his sex life.
"She doesn't care when I talk about our sex life, because our sex life is amazing. She's one of the most beautiful women in the world," he continues. "But...when we bring up — I'm not gonna do it —other people's names, she's like, 'Why would you even do that?'"

Stern claimed that Carey was most upset that Cannon talked about sleeping with Kim Kardashian. However, Cannon said that wasn't the case.

"You know, I don't think so, no. 'Cause honestly, my wife, she don't even know who Kim Kardashian is," the Real Husbands of Hollywood actor said. "She doesn't pay attention to that. I think it was more about the fact...[that I spent] time on my past."

"But, the most amazing sex I've ever had is with my wife," the actor said in conclusion. Surely, Mimi won't mind her husband revealing that bit of private info.
