Second seed Ana Ivanovic needed just over an hour to see off the challenge of Aleksandra Wozniak and claim her spot in the quarter-finals of the Monterrey Open.

The former world number one and 2008 French Open champion brushed aside the Canadian 6-4 6-2 to set up a showdown with sixth seed Magdalena Rybarikova in the last eight.

Rybarikova had won the first set of her second-round match 6-4 against Ayumi Morita when the Japanese was forced to retire after suffering from dizziness.
