Youth killed over love affair

ALLAHABAD: A youth was allegedly strangulated to death by his girlfriend's relative in Ghazipur Khoria village under Mauaima police station here on Thursday. He was identified as 25-year-old Raju of Sarangpur.
The Mauaima police said that Raju used to operate a DJ group and was having an affair with the daughter of Jagdish Yadav of Ghazipur Khoria village. The police said that Raju met the girl at Bantharia village where she was staying with her relatives.
After the family came to know of the affair, they took the girl home. On Thursday, Raju alongwith his friend had gone to Sarangpur village to meet the girl. The couple was talking to each other when the villagers spotted the duo and informed girl's family members. The family members caught the couple red-handed, while his friend escaped from the scene.
Police further said that in a fit of rage, family members of the girl strangled the youth to death. Upon receiving information, police team rushed to the spot and sent the body for post mortem. tnn
