Nick Collison is the longest-tenured and most unsung Oklahoma City Thunder player. Throughout his career, he’s been known for doing the little things and sacrificing his body. On Thursday night against the San Antonio Spurs, he sacrificed his face, too.
Late in the third quarter, Collison was battling for a rebound with Spurs center Jeff Ayres and caught an elbow to the face.
He stayed on the court for about 20 more seconds before he went to the bench looking like this:
Collison returned to the Thunder locker room to get stitches.
