No. 1 West Florida gets by Concordia (N.Y.)

  Elio Latella helped West Florida earn a point at No. 3 doubles.

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- West Florida defeated No. 6 Concordia (N.Y.) 8-1 on Thursday afternoon at the Ralph “Skeeter” Carson Tennis Complex. UWF wins its 19th consecutive match to start the 2014 spring season. West Florida (19-0, 7-0 GSC) has three more regular-season matches before the Gulf South Conference tournament on April 17-19 in Montgomery, Ala.

UWF’s No. 4-ranked doubles team of Bruno Savi and Tony Rajaobelina defeated Concordia’s No. 2-ranked doubles team of Daniele Piludu/Benas Majauskas 8-0 at No. 1 doubles.

Domenico Sano and Elio Latella won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles while Alex Peyrot and Felipe Frattini won a very close match at No. 2 doubles by a score of 9-7.

No. 1 Savi defeated No. 3 Juuso Ojanen 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles while No. 9 Peyrot defeated No. 6 Danielle Piludu at No. 2 singles 6-3, 3-6, 10-3.

Frattini won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 4 singles while Latella won 7-5, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Douglas Boe won at No. 6 singles 0-6, 6-2, 10-3.
