SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwired - Apr 3, 2014) - For the sixth year in a row, The Eye Institute of Utah is offering free LASIK, PRK, or ICL vision correction to four lucky winners of their annual Mother's Day contest. This year, four mothers will be selected at random to receive the complimentary treatment. Starting April 7, 2014, nominations can be submitted at www.theeyeinstitute.com. Check for updates at The Eye Institute of Utah's Facebook page. Nominees must be between the ages of 21 and 50, and entries will be accepted until April 28, 2014.

"Mothers throughout our community selflessly commit countless hours and resources to improve the lives of their family and friends," says Dr. Darcy Wolsey, Director of LASIK Services at The Eye Institute of Utah. "They rarely take time for themselves and never ask for anything in return. We are honored that we can return the favor by offering the gift of vision correction as a 'thank you' to four deserving moms."

The four winners of the Mother's Day contest will be notified on April 29, 2014. Depending on each mother's candidacy, they will be scheduled to receive either LASIK, PRK, or ICL surgery on May 9, 2014. These specialized surgeries can often cost around $3,000 per eye, depending on the procedure. The vision correction surgeries will be performed at The Eye Institute's office in Salt Lake City, free of charge.

One of last year's winning mothers described her experience after receiving PRK vision correction surgery, stating, "The experience was incredible from start to finish. It had a very individualized feel to the entire experience, and it seemed like every step of the treatment was explained to me in detail." She also explains how the staff helped to calm her nerves prior to surgery, noting, "As a jeweler, I rely on my eyesight as much as anyone. I always assumed that I would deal with my bad eyesight rather than risk any complications from a surgery. After my initial consultation and having my options carefully explained by Dr. Wolsey and the staff, I felt completely aware, comfortable, and trusting of the situation I would be entering."

Vision correction surgeries performed at The Eye Institute of Utah are completed using advanced technology such as IntraLase® all-laser technology and the ALLEGRETTO WAVE® Eye-Q. According to Dr. Wolsey, these advanced devices help the surgeons at The Eye Institute provide patients with the most accurate and effective outcomes possible.
