Director Asshu Trikha calls a confrontation scene between Vinod Khanna and Suniel Shetty one of the most challenging sequences that he shot for Koyelaanchal. The film talks about the coal mafia in Jharkhand, has Shetty playing a District Collector, with Khanna as the ruler of the land and people who reside in a small town in the Jharkhand belt. While Khanna indulges in a lot of discrepancies, Shetty’s aim is to rectify them. He calls Khanna for a meeting where one of Khanna’s adversaries slits the throat of another man. Shetty who has the image of a macho hero who can knock down several men with one blow, had to throw up after witnessing this violence!
“For Suniel, who did not have to look physically trained or aggressive, throwing up was an emotion he could not fathom or get comfortable with. Besides getting the physique right, he also had to work on his body language and attitude. He was very skeptical and did a lot of mulling over his characteristics before the shot. He prepared himself so well, that the shot was okayed in the first take! Everyone on the sets was surprised,” says Trikha who has earlier directed Enemmy.
Koyelaanchal releases on May 1.
