MANGALORE: AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi will be greeted with black flags on Friday by Mahila Dourjanya Vedike, DYFI, SFI, Dalit Saghursha Samithi, Janawadi Mahila Sanghatane and like minded organizations to highlight the failure of the state government to curb moral policing incidents in the coastal city.
A joint release from the organizations stated that Congress which bagged seven of the eight assembly seats in Dakshina Kannada highlighting the failure of BJP government in curbing moral policing and communal incidents, had now fallen into the same trap of inaction against perpetrators of the crime.

They stated that the alleged assault and attempt to outrage the modesty of Corporator Prathibha Kulai while she was campaigning at Kodikere area was result of police not arresting them under stringent sections of law as it was done by miscreants who were earlier involved in such attempts.
Though Congress said that it was the solution to arrest atrocities against women, they stated, both the national parties were not very different by looking at how things have panned out after Congress came into power almost year back.
They also stated that due to protests by organizations those involved in moral policing and communal incidents were lodged in jail for months together, but under Congress rule many such incidents were pushed under the carpet.
Due to the intervention of Mahila Dourjanya Vedike, DYFI, SFI, cases were registered but under sections which were bailable,'' they said adding this chauvinist mindset by police and Congress had resulted in attack on Congress corporator.
