Insisting that the media is responsible for creating the so-called Modi wave, Rajya Sabha MP Kumari Selja in Kurukshetra stated that elections were won on agendas and not 'waves'.

She was campaigning for Congress candidate Naveen Jindal.

Addressing mediapersons after attending several rallies in the area, Selja said that she was optimistic that Jindal would win by a huge margin from Kurukshetra.

"The Congress party has a very strong base here. Moreover, the party has done instrumental work at the grassroots level. I am sure that the people of Kurukshetra would ascertain that the Congress candidate wins by a record margin," she said.

Criticising BJP over the 'Gujarat Model' talk, the MP said, "It should never be forgotten that no state can progress without the central government's pro-development policies."

Optimistic that the Congress party would win all the 10 seats in Haryana, Selja said, "The people of the state know that the Congress party's effort has made Haryana the number one state in the country."
