DJ Hamza to perform in Bangalore
Delhi-based DJ Hamza -- who has released his first full-length album Gitano -- will play in Bangalore this weekend. The music man, who is considered one of the pioneers of the house music scene in India, will get behind the console at Sanctum on April 4, where he will give Bangaloreans a taste of the music from his new album.
Hamza's diverse international sound is influenced by his strong musical background, as well as the time he spent in Paris, Boston and New York.
At 27, Hamza has already worked with some of the biggest names in world music, which include Punjabi icon Jasbir Jassi and David Hykes, the only western vocalist specializing in sacred Mongolian chants. Hamza has also worked with Taz from Stereo Nation.
Gitano -- which is inspired by Hamza's travels and life on three different continents (South Asia, Europe, and North America) -- is a culmination of a prolific five years for the Indian features 10 tracks that touch upon on Latin, Celtic, flamenco, funk, and jazz influences.
