Foundation of ‘Sir Chotu Ram Jat Bhawan’ laid in Vijaypur

SAMBA, Mar 31: The foundation stone of ‘Sir Chotu Ram Jat Bhawan’ was laid today at Thandi Khui near Vijaypur, here today.
Choudhary Virender Singh, grandson of Rajya Sabha MP, Choudhary Chotu Ram, who was the chief guest on the occasion, laid the foundation stone of the Bhawan in a function organized by Sir Chotu Ram Charitable Trust.
The function was conducted under the leadership of Ex DGP and president, Jat Sabha, Chandigarh, Choudhary Mahinder Singh Malik.
Earlier, Mahavir Singh Shastri from Rohtak (Haryana) started the programme with yagya and havan.
Speaking on the occasion, the organizer of the programme and chairman of “Sir Chotu Ram Trust”, Choudhary Kamal Singh expressed his pleasure that Jat Samaj of the State, which did not have its own bhawan for community programmes, will now have its own bhawan.
The pilgrims coming from outside the State will also get benefit of the Bhawan, which is going to be constructed on National Highway, he said. Moreover, the students of far flung areas of State, who left their home for Jammu to get higher studies, will also reap its benefit, he added.
He also highlighted the struggle of Din Bandu Sir Chotu Ram for improving the condition of the farming community of the country.
The guests of the function including President, Jat Mahasabha, Uttarakhand, Choudhary Om Pal Singh Rathi, president, Nandal Khap, Choudhary Mahender Singh Nandal, Ex-president, Assam Jat Mahasabha, Harful Singh, president, Assam Jat Sabha, Budhram, Dr Suresh Nandal and Choudhary Sabar Mull while speaking expressed resentment over denial of reservation to Jats in J&K.
They appealed the Jat community of J&K to fight unitedly and press the State Government to grant reservation in their favour.
