Song premiere: Tele Novella's 'Coat-Tail Rider'
If the Austin-based band Tele Novella isn't on your radar yet, it should be. Last year I praised their song No Excalibur for its wistful charm, and next month the foursome crops up on the eagerly anticipated compilation record I Saved Latin! A Tribute to Wes Anderson.
The group has several tour dates coming up, and today I'm pleased to debut its new single, Coat-Tail Rider. Says band member Natalie Ribbons (formerly of another Pop Candy-recommended act, Agent Ribbons):
"Coat-Tail Rider is a spaghetti-pop tune with a stink-eye and a white-hot grudge that could wilt a cactus. The pen really is mightier than the sword, and the last word has never sounded so good!"
