JAMMU, Mar 30: The Morning Walkers at Circular Road Panjtirthi in a unique initiative launched under SVEEP by District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Jammu Ajeet K. Sahu were sensitized regarding the importance of exercising “Right to Vote”. The tag line for the campaign is, “Worried about your health….! What about Nations Health…….!”
A short play titled “Humara Farz” by theatre group “Rangyug” which is of 20 min. duration in a very lucid manner is conveying the message of importance of participation in the election process and the feature of urban apathy which is a major reason for less voter turnout in urban areas and emphasis on ethical voting. The timings of the poll which are from 7 am to 6 pm were also highlighted in the play.
The morning walkers after witnessing the play signed the pledge that they will exercise their “Right to Vote” on April 10, 2014. This campaign by the SVEEP Team of District Jammu lead by Nodal Officer SVEEP, K K Sidha ACD Jammu will go on at all the major locations of the city, where the Citizens prefer their morning walk.
