Results are in: Annual election of Hazara district bar associations held

Annual elections for the District Bar Association were held across Hazara division on Saturday.  According to the results of Haripur Bar Association, Advocate Abdul Razzaq Chugtai defeated former deputy attorney general and president Nawaz Swati securing 179 votes, while the latter could only garner 86 votes.


Advocate Sher Bahadur Khan was elected vice president with 134 votes and Advocate Faisal Saeed won the office of general secretary bagging 147 votes, while his rival Raja Jabbar got 114 votes.

Advocate Shahida Javed and Advocate Lubna were elected joint secretary and library secretary – unopposed – respectively.

With regards to Abbottabad’s results, President of Hazara Qaumi Mahaz (HQM), Advocate Qazi Muhammad Azhar, was elected as President of Abbottabad Bar Association – bagging 135 votes, beating his rival Advocate Abdul Sattar who got 108 votes.

Advocate Shamim Nawaz won the office of vice president with 119, defeating her rival Saeedur Rehman by only one vote. Advocate Kamran Gul Khan was elected general secretary, securing 94 votes while his rival Advocate Noman Khan bagged 93 votes. In Mansehra, Munir Khan Lughmani was elected president, unopposed, while Sardar Wajihul Mulk Gujjar was elected general secretary – obtaining 169 votes against opponent Advocate Syed Amir Shah who got 94 votes.

Advocate Rasool Khan and Advocate Inayat Ullah were elected unopposed as president and general secretary of Battagram Bar Association.
