Vikramaditya University's examination question kicks up political row
INDORE: Vikramaditya University, Ujjain, has tried to appease BJP-ruled MP government by raising a controversial question in MA fourth semester examination on March 25.
A question categorically asked students of public administration to ‘critically analyse the role of Congress party in Madhya Pradesh’ in its short answer section. Condemning it strongly, Congress spokesperson Narendra Saluja said, “BJP has tried to target Congress with malafide intentions by asking a question like this at a time when the country is going to polls.” The party lodged a complaint with governor and Election Commission of India on Friday demanding action against the person responsible.

Congress spokesperson said such objectionable questions related to Deendayal Upadhyay and RSS leaders were asked earlier as well to undermine their contribution to the society. “Just a few days back, state government had a highly objectionable question on Guru Nanakji at the sub inspectors examination hurting the sentiments of the community,” he added.
Former state president of Congress, Kantilal Bhuria said it has exposed BJP. “The saffron party has stooped to such a level to use education as a political tool against its opponent,” Bhuria said. However, vice chancellor of Vikram University Prof Jawaharlal Kaul said, “The issue has been referred to the subject expert committee.”
He said the question paper was set three months ago and at that time election schedule was not even declared so allegations of political connotation is baseless.
