Four die, dozen injured as truck rams pickup van

VADODARA: Four persons, including a three-year-old girl, were killed and 12 others suffered injuries when a truck rammed into a pickup van on Friday morning.
The victims were travelling in the pickup van. The driver of the pickup van had stopped the vehicle by the roadside for a while when the truck rammed into it on Ajwa Road near National Highway 8.
According to police, most of the victims belonged to the same family and were residents of Danteshwar.They had gone to Unjha to offer prayers in a temple and were returning home when the accident happened.
The deceased have been identified as Kinjal Vanzara, 3, Renuka Vanzara, 45, Bhavesh Vanzara, 52, and his daughter Sunita Vanzara, 26, all residents of Danteshwar.
The injured were admitted to SSG Hospital and a private hospital and were reported to be in stable condition. The truck driver fled from the spot after the accident.
