VADODARA: A 32-year-old inmate of Vadodara Central Jail committed suicide by hanging himself at SSG Hospital late on Thursday night.
Naresh Panchal, who was accused of killing his girlfriend, ended his life in the bathroom of prisoners' ward. He was brought to the ward for treatment.
According to the police, Panchal was booked and arrested under IPC 302 for murder and sent to Anand subjail.
He was later shifted to Vadodara central jail as an undertrial.
Police said that Panchal had tried to kill himself after killing his paramour, but he didn't succeed. He was admitted to SSG some days ago and kept in ward number 13. The police said that depression led Panchal to take the extreme step, but it is trying to ascertain the exact cause.
