Puttur continues to record high temperature in Karnataka

MANGALORE: Puttur hobli in Puttur taluk of Dakshina Kannada district recorded maximum temperature of 42.3°C on March 27 at 2.15pm. Budikote hobli in Bangarpet taluk of Kolar district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 11.8°C on March 28 at 6.30am. More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 28% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 95% geographical area in the state.
Maximum temperature fell at few places over Malnad, coastal region and changed little over remaining parts of the state. Minimum temperature rose at few places over Malnad, and changed little over remaining parts of the state. Dry weather prevailed over the state up to 8.30am on March 28. Karnataka for the period March 22 to March 28 recorded deficit rainfall of 96%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 2.2mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 0.1mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on March 28, four geographical regions received 0mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 0.5mm, a 98% deficit departure from normal.
