96th convocation of BHU organised

VARANASI: Banaras Hindu University held its 96th convocation ceremony on Amphitheater Ground on Thursday.
While delivering convocation address, noted scientist Jayant Vishnu Narlikar said education and research should go together. It is unfortunate that Indian universities do not give proper emphasis on research works while the research institutes are limited to their research works only, he said.Degrees were conferred upon 10,757 students and 29 meritorious students were awarded medals on the occasion.
The director general of The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) Rajendra Kumar Pachauri was honoured with DSc (Honoris Causa). He was not present to receive the honour.
